With phototherapy, meaningful assessment usually requires months, and longer supervised courses often produce better outcomes than short, irregular attempts. Face and neck lesions tend to respond best; trunk lesions are intermediate; extremities and hands-feet are more resistant.</p>
<p>Ayurveda also recognizes prognosis differences. Charaka describes lesions that are thin, pale, not long-standing, not associated with red hair, and separated by unaffected skin as more favorable.
